HOW TO PACK EXCESS BAGGAGE

Your bags are travelling across the world carrying your valuables, so you need to take care they arrive in good condition – Pack your bags and boxes carefully and safely. To prevent them breaking open in transit, make sure you don’t over-fill them. Fragile items inside need to be wrapped using bubble wrap or other suitable material.

Maximum weight per piece is 30kgs.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

TIFS choose the airline and routing to maximize your savings. This means your bags travel on a separate airline to you. You can choose to have them delivered to your door or held for pickup at the destination airport. You can drop them at our conveniently located Marrickville depot on your way to the airport, or we also offer a home pickup service that will see our drivers come to your home to weigh and collect your luggage.

The transit time for luggage is 5 to 7 days and your bags are assigned a unique tracking number (MAWB) for ease of locating them on arrival.

The airline will contact you when your luggage arrives or you can check on their progress by calling and quoting your MAWB number. Bags are collected from the cargo section of the destination airport or if you choose delivery to your door, arrangements will be made for a suitable delivery time.

Destination airports will charge a handling fee and these and any other applicable taxes, levies or charges are paid by the receiver. These may include quarantine fees, terminal fees or storage fees etc.

WHAT CAN’T I SEND?

Dangerous items CANNOT be packed in your bags, for example flammable liquids such as perfume, matches, lighters, and batteries or any other chemicals or fireworks. A full list will be attached to the documentation at the time of completion.
